Role summary

Analyse environmental policy, legislation and regulatory frameworks to support scrutiny of Scotland’s statutory biodiversity targets and delivery of the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy. You will gather and interpret intelligence, coordinate and draft ESS’s statutory response to government progress, and engage stakeholders to obtain evidence on policy implementation. The role also involves maintaining relationships across government and the environmental sector, contributing to cross-organisational analysis and representing ESS internally and externally. Strong policy analysis, clear communication and the ability to work collaboratively are central to the post.
