Role summary

Provide professional leadership for ecology within North Yorkshire Council’s Planning Service, leading a specialist team and ensuring ecological considerations inform strategic planning and development management. You will contribute to the new Local Plan, advise on planning policy and legislation, provide ecology training and work with landscape, urban-design and historic-environment colleagues. The role requires strong ecological and planning expertise, experience leading a specialist or multidisciplinary team, and the ability to manage people, budgets and competing priorities.
